Alone

This was drafted back few months ago…

We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone.

My first night in Miri was superb.

Me and my new friends had dinner together. We had Lalapan, the ‘famous’ Miri food. We laughed and happy, recalling our PIPE programme. New environment, new town, the night was fantastic.

But, I knew from that moment, life will never be the same again. From that day, as I remember, I don’t really have proper dinner again. Most of the time, I was alone. In fact, I spent most of my time in my car, alone.

One of my teacher once said to me, adults do not have as many friends as youngsters do.

He is right.

Day in and day out. You are busy. With work, with deadlines, with yourself and with your own high spec laptop. You don’t have friend. And sadly, you are alone.

You are alone, even hundreds of people around you everyday. But those people are not your friend. They do not even know you. They know you as engineer, executive, etc. You are lucky if people know you, outside office, outside your fancy office attire.

That is life. We are alone all the time. Families and friends are the illusion we created for us to deny this interesting fact: We are alone.

Well, my friend, if you agree with this short article, one thing for sure.
